Music Week Loss In Christchurch
DEFICIT OF £IOO The Music Week activities ended in Christchurch with a loss of about £IOO to the promoters, but it seems likely that this amount will be considerably reduced, for already some listenersin who enjoyed the various concerts have shown their appreciation by donations, says the Christchurch “Sun.” Mr. G. L. Donaldson, secretary to the Music Week Committee, has received £1 Is from a Rakaia resident and from £2 to £3 in smaller contributions from other sympathisers. It is hoped that further support will be forthcoming. Donations may be left at any of the music-shops in town or sent direct to Mr. Donaldson. Music Week in Wellington resulted In a loss of £SO, but this amount has now been subscribed by listeners-in. In New Plymouth the concerts resulted in a profit of £IOO.
