“HOME AGAIN”
ST. PETER’S BOYS’ REUNION The eighth annual reunion of the old boys of St. Peter's Church, Grey Lynn, held last evening, was a most successful function. Tho Rev. Thomas Halliday, president of the Old Boys’ Association, presided over 80 members and guests. Greetings were received from officers and veterans of the Young Men's Bible Class movement throughout New Zealand and apologies for absence from more than 20 St. Peter's old bovs Messages were directed to be sent "to old boys of the Bible Class movement now holding responsible positions in tho political and civic life of the Dominion; to Mr. H. B. Burnett on being awarded the Bible Class 28 years’ service badge, to Misses Findlay and Reid, St. Peter's old girls’ missionaries in China, and to the relatives of Dr. Clifford Stubbs, former New Zealand Bible Class man, recently murdered in that country; also to Mrs. Ness, the "Mother of St. Peter’s,” now 97 years of age, several of whose 64 surviving descendants w-ere present. Mention was made of a coincidence in connection with the meeting, which fell on the birthdays of Messrs. D. B. Bannatyno and G. F. Underwood, and on the silver wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Underwood. They were presented with mementoes of the occasion. The following were electedPatron, the Rev. E. H. Kedgley. minister of St Peter's; president, the Rev. Thomas Halliday; vice-presidents, Messrs. D. B. Bannatyne and A. D. Campbell; secretary, Mr. R. A. Ramsay; treasurer, Mr. C. A. Uittle; committee, Messrs. N. C. Bannatyne. N P. Brinsden, J. A. Carr, A. R. Johnson, P. K. Ness and G. F. Underwood. , A programme of musical and elocutionary items was given. The toast "Past and Present Bible Class Leaders and Presidents,” was replied to by the Rev. F. A. Thompson, the Rev. Mr Kedgley, Mr. N. C. Bannatyne and Mrs. Halliday.
