“£IO,OOO BETTER OFF” HARBOUR BOARD’S FIGURES “Our cash receipts are eminently satisfactory. On both our accounts we are £IO,OOO better off in receipts this year than last,” said the chairman, Mr. M. H. Wynyard, at the Harbour Board's meeting yesterday afternoon. The report of the treasurer and accountant stated that there had been an increase of £265 in cash receipts for August and an increase of £11,731 for the 11 months as compared with similar figures last year. There was still a good margin in the estimates to account for any serious declension in September, the receipts in excess of the proportion of the year’s estimates being £13,606 after deducting the Manukau deficit, £1,086. The Manukau receipts were consistently falling from the 1929 level. There was a decrease of £3O for August and a decrease of £1,348 for the 11 months of the year. This showed a deficit of £1,086 on the estimates for the year.
