George Bancroft, whose burly manners and lusty laughter have won him many friends among pictures-goers, is seen and heard in his latest picture, “Ladies Love Brutes,” now at the Plaza Theatre. The story is based on a play, “Pardon My Glove,” by Zoe Akins. Bancroft is seen as the structural steelworker who becomes a successful business man, and tries to break into society, with surprising results.
With a replica of an old Swedish inn as a setting, Grace Moore walked through a studio snow-storm as her initiation to the screen, when Sidney Franklin started direction of h,er first talking picture for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The Metropolitan opera star plays the role of Jenny Lind, famous Swedish singer of years ago, in a story based on her life. Reginald Denny plays the hero, and a notable cast arm ear 6.
