JOHN GILBERT’S LATEST
Pitching into a brawl in a “pub” with his erstwhile enemy, Jim Tully and Wallace Beery, John Gilbert has begun work on his new talkie, “Way For a Sailor,” off with a wallop. The new Metro - Gold wyn-Mayer picture being directed by Sam Wood has a virile sea background, and much of the action will be screened aboard ship. Gilbert discards gay uniforms and immaculate make-up in the new talkie, wearing old dungarees. William Powell plays the part of a famous criminal defence lawyer in his latest all-talking picture, “For the Defence.” ,
