OTAHUHU V. PT. CHEVALIER The teams were: Point Chevalier —Hemmingson, Lane. Duncan, Mac Lean, Christmas, Monaghan, Humphries. Sertees, Morrow, MhcPherson, Kindly, MacMillan, MacLean. Otahuhu. —G. Philp. Matson, Reilly, W. Philp, Eustace, Murphy, Farreil. Brady, Hart, Jury, R. Philp, Whvc. Conway. Referee; Mr. W. Simpson. This match was the final for the senior B grade championship, both teams standing equal at the top of the championship table. It aroused much enthusiasm among the supporters of the respective teams. Point had the better of the opening exchanges, and missed an opportunity of putting on two penalty points. But Otahuhu rallied and made several assaults on the Point line, which all but resulted in tries. The game continued to be fast and open with the tackling, especially by Otahuhu, very deadly. Hemmingson saved on several occasions for Point Chevalier. The game was very hard and vigorous, one Otahuhu player having to be carried oil’. There was no score to either side at half-time. Playing with the wind after the interval, Otahuhu showed up to advantage. But much kicking by both sides was spoiling the game. Matson (Otahuhu) scored the first points of the game when he followed up fast and bustled Hemmingson. The trv was not converted. Otahuhu 3. Point Chevalier 0. The game was close from then on. but Otahuhu had slightly the better of things. The final score was: Otahuhu 3 Point Chevalier 0
