AGED MAORI DIES

WIDOW OF MANIAPOTO Erotn Our Oicn Correspondent TOKAANU, Saturday. The death occurred at Tokaanu today of Te Rohu Manga, at the age of S 7 years. She was the widow of the Maniapoto chief, Rewi Maniapoto, the defender of Orakau. She was twice married, and was present when her first husband, Hateriki, was killed near Matata during the Hauhau wars. A tangi will be held.
