40-MILE ROAD RACE

WON BY M. GANE Press Association WELLINGTON, Sunday. A 40 miles’ road race held on Saturday afternoon by the Port Nicholson Amateur Road Cycling Club (a New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association body) was won by M. Gane, (scr.), who covered the course in 111 54m 555. S. Webber (21m) was second and A. Toomer (11m) third. The fastest time was done by Gane, with P. N. Robinson (scr), second. Robinson’s time was lh 55m lls.
