TENNIS TOUR POSSIBLE
VISIT BY U.S. PLAYERS SOUTH AFRICAN SCHEME Press Association WELLINGTON, Today. Nothing more has been heard from tho South Africa Tennis Association in respect to the invitation extended by the New Zealand Association for a team to visit this country. At the annual meeting of the Nn Zealand Association the chairman, Air. A. G. Henderson, said it looked extremely likely that the proposal would Jail through. No reply had been received to the New Zealand Association’s letter or cablegram. There might be a letter on tho way, but unless some concrete proposal was made soon it would be too late for the visit to come off this season. No steps had been taken to have a Japanese team visit New Zealand. Mr. G. N. Goldie mentioned that the Australian Association was negotiating for a visit by United States players in 1931, and it was suggested that it might be possible to arrange to have the players come to New Zealand also. Lott, Van Ryn and possibly Allison have been suggested as likely to make the trip. The chairman said that if definite arrangements had been made the suggestion very possibly could be carried out.
