BOYS “BORROW” CARS
LEADER NARROWLY ESCAPES THRASHING SEVEN VEHICLES TAKEN Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Todaj'. The unlawful conversion of seven motor-cars accounted for the presence of three boys in the Children’s Court this rooming. “Only your ill-liealth saves you from a severe thrashing by a constable,” said Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., to the ringleader, a boy aged 15. The others, both aged 14, escaped a birching because the magistrate did not see his way to letting one off and imposing a penalty on the others. The ringleader was placed under the supervision of the child welfare officer for three years, and the others were placed under supervision for one year each. The case was a sequel to the disappearance last week of several motorcars from parking places in the city.
