BIG HOUSE BURNED

FIRE AT ONEHUNGA A large wooden two-storey house in Nelson Street, Onehunga, was destroyed completely early yesterday by fire. The only occupant, Mr. O’Neill, was awakened by the flames and had a narrow escape. When the Onehunga Fire Brigade was called out the blaze already had a strong hold, and soon the building, a well-known landmark, was a mass of flames. It was impossible to save the house, which is a total loss.
