ST. PETER’S OLD BOYS
EIGHTH ANNUAL REUNION Old boys of St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Great North Road, will hold their eighth annual reunion on Tuesday evening. This institution is believed to be the only one of its kind in New Zealand. It has created a great deal of interest among other churches, several of which are said to be taking steps to form their own old boys’ associations. Before the war the young men’s Bible classes of St. Peter’s were very strong, a great number of young fellows of Grey Lynn and Arch hill and of other areas joining and taking part in the activities, which included beside the class meetings sports of every form. The roll of honour is consequently a very large one, containing as it does 200 names. The minister of the war period, the Rev'. F. A. Thompson, is a veteran of the Boer War, and his successor, the Rev. Tlios. Halliday, the originator of the Old Boys’ Association, was in France as a Y.M.C.A. field secretary.
