PROTECTING A STATUE
VICTORIA LEAGUE REQUEST Replying to a 'request that something be done —for instance, by means of a rail —to protect the statue at the top ot Wakefield Street, the City Council decided last evening that a rail would be undesirable. I-lowever, other means will be used to prevent damage to the statue. The request was received from the Victoria League. The acting-superin-tendent of parks reported on the cost of erecting a railing.
