DANGEROUS CONDITION OF MANY PLACES “REPAIRS MUST BE MADE” At its meeting last evening, the City Council decided to notify the Transport Board that repairs to the roadway along the tram tracks in Kara.ngahape Road, Herne Bay and Grey Lynn must be carried out immediately, the City engineer tts indicate those portions of the roads which required urgent attention. The question was brought up by Cr. Grey Campbell at the council meeting on June 6. Later the City engineer reported that the attention of the manager to the Transport Board had been drawn to the conditions of the tracks, and that the manager had replied that he was fully alive to the position. On August 5, the City engineer reported he had received a further letter from tho manager stating the board would probably be unable to do any of the work this financial year. The engineer considered this unsatisfactory, as there were portions of the tram tracks which were, in his opinion.' decidedly dangerous
