Today A large representative gathering ye, terday, comprising representative,, of the Meat Producers' Board, the Sheep owners’ Federation, the FarmersUnion, the North and South Island Freezing Companies’ Associations, and casing companies, discussed the serious position of the stock-raising „J freezing industries due to the serious fall in the value of meat and by-p ro . ducts.
The following resolution was unanimously passed:—“That, owing to the serious fail in the value of meat and by-products, it is essential that the costs of working in the freezing indip. try be reduced. This meeting is there, foreof the opinion that the freezing companies should approach the Arbitration Court for a substantial redueticji in the rates paid and the abolition of the restrictions which hinder the economical working of the various departments. thereby reducing efficienev
