PAPATOETOE DEBATING SOCIETY
The fortnightly evening of the Pap :* toetoe Literary, Debating and Dramatic Society was held in the Alethodist Ha!', Papatoetoe. on Tuesday evening. Ati S. J. E. Close?’ presided. The subject for debate was, ' That lqve of the pictures is not helpful to community life." The affirmative was taken by the visitors. representing the Young Womens Christian Association. Aliss Heron. Airs. Alurra?* and Aliss Williams. The local club's team, which took the negative, was Aliss Donald, Alessrs. C. J. Alahon and E. Burton.
On the vote of the meeting the verdict was awarded to the affirmative advocates.
