NO FURTHER ACTION “STEWARD JUSTIFIED” Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. Today. A meeting of the Judicial Comm'itof the Metropolitan Trotting Club held last, evening- to inquire further into the Royal'Silk case and the committee agreed that Mr. F. Beer, the > tipendiary steward, was quite justified in asking for the case to be reopened to hear further evidence, but owing to the conflicting nature of the evidence ir. was resolved that no further action should be taken.
Royal Silk, after being unplaced at the recent -Addington meeting on the first /mrl second days, won the Islington Handicap on the concluding day in 4.29 1-5, being a warm favourite. After the race an inquiry was held and ultimately his owner was disqualified for 12 months for unsatisfactory evidence. The judge’s placing for the event was not altered.— Abaydos.”
