CHARGED WITH ARSON
ASSOCIATES OF CAMBRIDGE GANG BURNING OF CHURCH HALL Prom Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Two young men, David George Harrison and Heizel Edward Orr, of Cambridge, who were associated with the notorious fire-bug gang which terrorised the district some weeks ago, appeared in the Supreme Court today on charges of arson. According to the evidence, the two accused accompanied the other members of the gang to the Waikato Winter Show, from where they went later to Frankton and two of the gang burned down ther AhgiiCan ChurchTTaTl in Rifle Range Road, but the prisoners took no active part in the burning. Mr. H. T. Gillies, for the Crown, submitted that accused were parties to the crime.
Counsel for the defence contended that they were merely passiye .spectators.
Verdicts were returned of not guilty in each case and accused were discharged.
