Te Awamutu Club’s Bright Function

AN “OLD-FASHIONED” EVENING

On Monday evening the committee of the Te Awamutu Golf Club held a very successful oldfashioned dance in the Parish Hall, 1 e Awamutu.

Tho hall was very gay with blue and gold streamers and balloons. Good music was supplied by the Te Awamutu Orchestra. Among those present were: Mrs. J. Oliphant, wearing a handsome frock of black, embroidered in silver; Mrs. C. Blundell, deep coral georgette; Mrs. M. Winter, ivory taffeta; Mrs. J. Storey, floral taffeta; Miss Hanna, electric blue georgette; Mrs. J. O'Sullivan, black satin and flame velvet wrap; Mrs. Heskins, cyclone taffeta; Miss Welham (Gisborne), shell pink frilled georgette; Mrs. Garvey, black georgette; Miss Budge, black lace and georgette; Miss Durant, wistaria georgette; Miss G. Sinnott, wedgwood blue satin; Miss B. Matthews, (Otorohanga), wearing flame taffeta and gold lace; Miss Bale, floral ninon; Miss Willor, black lace; Miss A. Macky, shell pink georgette and silver lace; Miss B. Clarke, turquoise blue georgette; Miss McCarroll, hydrangea blue organdi; Miss B. Potts, delphinium blue velvet.

Miss H. Poche, who wore flowered geoi*gette; MiSs H. Garvey, black organdi; Miss G. Garvey, flame georgette; Miss M. Storey, flowered georgette in autumn tones; Miss Dew, aerial blue satin beaute; Mrs. S. Rickitt, floral velvet; Mrs. Hodges, primrose flowered ninon; Mrs. Riddell, flame crepe de chine; Mrs. Deighton, black georgette and lace; Miss Wyatt, black satin: Miss Rickett, azure taffeta; Miss M. Macky, lettuce green taffeta; Miss W. Wallace, floral ninon; Miss Clark (Auckland), briar rose taffeta: Miss I. Marshall (Whangarei), parchment lace; Miss Quinlan, black georgette and lace; Miss Cameron (Auckland), black and silver frock; Miss D. Noonan, black lace; Miss Jones, black georgette: Miss Lees, willow green chiffon velvet; Miss R. Bell (Pirongia), black and white ninon; Miss J. Bell (Pirongia), gold and black gown.
