TECHNICAL EDUCATION
BLOW STRUCK BY ATMORE REPORT CRITICISM IN OTAGO Press Association DUNEDIN. Today. ‘•The measures, if adopted, will be one of the biggest possible blows against technical education,” said Mr. Scott, chairrpan of the Technical College Board, when that body considered the Atm ore education report. A special committee appointed by the board reported seriatim on the proprosals, concluding: “The more deeply the report is studied, the more plainly the fact emerges that technical education presents problems too complex to be dealt with in the simple fashion suggested. The main trend of the report seems to be toward the elimination of technical schools from the national system, and administrative measures proposed would not seem to be designed to encourage a subsequent revival of interest in technical education.”
