MISSING FOUR DAYS
WOMAN LOST IN BUSH SEARCH PARTIES OUT ' Press Association NAPIER, Tuesday. Fears are entertained for the safety of Mrs. Heming, wife of a roadman who lives 12 miles on the Taupo side of Tarawera. She has been missing since Saturday evening. . Mr. and Mrs. Heming were out together on Saturday afternoon, in a clearing not far from their house. Mr. Heming left his wife to go in search of pigs. He wounded a large boar and called up his dogs to track it, as it penetrated deeper Into the bush. Mr. Heming thought that his wife would proceed home. On returning to camp later he found that his wife was not there. Darkness had set in and Mr. Heming returned to the bush and continued to search unsuccessfully until late into the night. The police have since been engaged in an extensive search, with the assistance of residents of the district, but no trace of Mrs. Heming has been found.
The density of the bush and the ruggedness of the country, together with the bad weather since Saturday, make search difficult, and the plight of the unfortunate woman is believed to be serious.
