QUESTION OF DOCTRINE ARGUED IN COURT ACTION AGAINST DISMISSAL Reed. Noon. CAPETOWN, Monday. Professor Duplessi’s action against tlie Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church, under which he seeks to nullify his dismissal from the Theological Seminary at the Stellenbosch University, lias opened before three judges of the Supreme Court. Counsel for the Synod held that the court could not over-ride the Church Court on the question of doctrine. Plaintiff’s counsel argued that plaintiff had not broken any Church doctrine, and that the interpretation of all contracts rested with the civil courts.
