COMMERCE TRAIN

ITINERARY OF TOUR The “commerce train” tour planned by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce for November will, with the exception of the first and last days of a six-day trip, be done by road. The date of departure has not been fixed as the tour is contingent upon a sufficient number of applications being received. The proposed itinerary is as follows: —Auckland to Rotorua, train; Rotorua to AVaikaremoana and AVairoa, car; Wairoa to Gisborne, car; Gisborne district, Gisborne to Opotiki, car; Opotiki to Taneatua, car; Taneatua to Auckland, train. The Rotorua-AVaikaremoana road is only partly metalled, and should there me much rain immediately preceding the tour there may be difficulty in getting through. In this event the programme for the second, third and fourth days will be:—Rotorua to Napier, via Taupo; Napier to Waikaremoana and back; AA T airoa to Gisborne. The party will sleep at hotels instead of—as on previous tours —on the train. The cost is tentatively estimated to run out at between £l2 and £l3, inclusive of fares, both rail and motor, and of accommodation.
