MATAMATA CLUB From Ou,r Oicn Correspondent MATAAIATA. Friday. The annual meeting of the Matarnata Bowling Club was held on Thursday evening, Air. W. Egan presiding over a fair attendance. The annual report and balance sheet showed the bank overdraft to be £395 9s 6d, a reduction of £24 8s 4d from that of last year. The club members had been very successful in tournaments and various competitions. Officers elected were as follow: Patrdns, Alessrs. Alan and Edward Bowler; president, Mr. W. Egan; vicepresidents. Messrs. J. Pohlen, W. Af. Crabb and T. , Stewart; committee, Alessrs. A. Oates, G. Cockhead and E. M. Brunton; secretary, Mr. W. A. Gordon; assistant-secretary, Afr. J. W. Simpson: auditor, Air. L. W. Barkmantreasurer, Mr. W. Egan; green superintendent, Mr. G. Stewart; match and selection committee, Alessrs. Gordon, Crabb and Oates; delegates to South Auckland Centre and Goldfields Association, Alessrs. Egan and Stewart. It was decided to officially open the season on the first Saturday in October.
