THE CLOUD FAIRY
One evening, just at sunset, I looked in great surprise To see a small cloud fairy Dancing across the skies.
Her hair was long and golden. Her dress was frilly pink. Her dancing shoes were dainty . . • She was the queen, I think. And then the sky was coloured With blue, and gold, and red, But very soon it faded As the sun dropped into bed. Aloon fairies came out to play. Each dancing low and high.
