WATERFRONT ROAD

CELEBRATING COMPLETION SPORTS CARNIVAL PROPOSED For tho purpose of discussing the advisability of arranging functions to celebrate the completion of the waterfront roadway, a meeting of residents of Tamaki was held in the Peerless Theatre. St. Heliers, on Thursday. There was a good attendance. A general committee of all present was set up to forward the project. A sub-committee to formulate a definite programme was also appointed, such committee to consist of Airs. Watson, Messrs. Nevili H libber, McArthur. Magill, Grant, Greenhough and officials. Mr. G. Hogan was elected permanent chairman with Messrs. Fycroft and Scott as secretary and treasurer. The opinion was expressed that the celebration should take the form of a great sports carnival.
