WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

HENDERSON BRANCH A largely attended social under the auspices of the Henderson Women s Institute was held in the Town Hall last evening at Henderson. The evening was devoted to dancing, interspersed with musical items, recitations and competitions. Dance music was supplied by Mrs. de Montalk, Mrs. Dustin and Mrs. Knipe, and Miss L. Hart acted as accompanist. Supper concluded a very enjoyable evening. Meeting at woodhill The Woodhill Women's Institute held its monthly meeting in the Woodhill Public Hall this week, the president, Stanley Phillips, of Wharepapa, presiding. An interesting demonstration of tatting was given by Mrs. Phillips, and Mrs. George MacDonald also gave a demonstration of knitting tea cosies. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs. T. Phillips and Mrs. D. M. Quarrie (Parakai).
