FAREWELL PARTY FOR POPULAR RESIDENTS
CARD EVENING AT MANGERE The home of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Massey, Buckland Road, Mangere, which was prettily decorated with bowls of golden daffodils. was the scene of a very enjoyable evening on Wednesday, when a number of very old friends gathered at the invitation of Mesdames Burns and Chapman, to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. D. Connell, who are leaving the district at an early date.
On behalf of those present. Mr. Massey expressed their regret at the departure from the district of Mr. and Mrs. Connell, and presented them with a handsome travelling rug, as a reminder of their happy days in Mangere. Mr. J. Clark also spoke. Mr. Connell suitably responded and thanked the speakers for kind remarks. The evening was spent in progressive 500, the winners were Mrs. Chapman and Mr. Henwood, and the consolation prize was awarded to Mrs , George Massey.
