SEAMAN FINED £5 When Thomas Kelly became Irritated at a Birkenhead bus-driver, he used obscene language. Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., considered the privilege to be worth £5 or 14 days, when Kelly appeared at the Police Couft today. Kelly pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him. According to Thomas Edward Halliday, the busdriver, Kelly had called him all the names he could think ot at Birkenhead Wharf yesterday. There were about 12 passengers in the bus, who distinctly heard the words. Sub-Inspector Shanahan said that Kelly, who was described as a seaman, aged 34, had a list. ‘‘Forty convictions, I see,” said Mr. Hunt. ‘‘He’s fined £5 or 14 days, plus cab-fare and witness’s expenses.”
