MANUKAU YACHTING
CRUISING CLUB MEETS YEAR’S PROGRESS REVIEWED The Manukau Cruising Club, which held its annual meeting last evening, ’lias decided on a policy of activity in an effort to procure a boat harbour, and if possible to persuade the Harbour Board to assist in dredging the basin. There was a large attendance, the commodore, Mr. R. H. Auger, presiding. The report showed a slight membership decrease for the year under review, but the boat register had not suffered. During* the season. 12 races for yachts, and 10 for launches, had been held, and some very close finishes recorded. Seven races for model yachts had been held. Mention was made of the friendly feeling existing between the two Manukau Clubs, three combined races having been conducted. The balance sheet revealed a satisfactory financial position. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P.; president, Mr. R. H. Auger; vice-presidents, same as last year, with power to add; commodore, Mr. W. Clay don; vicecommodore. Mr. L. Peterson; rearcommodore, Mr, A. Marbeck; clubhouse captain, Mr. E. Jones; secretary and treasurer, Air. J. C. Sibbon; assistant secretary. Air. T. E. Smith; starter. Air. J. Keegan; committee, Messrs. Claydon, Peterson, A. Marbeck, Sibbin, G. Smith, T. Marshall, G. Dunning, J. Keegan, T. E. Smith, T. Lloyd; sailing committee, Messrs. Claydon, Peterson, Marbeck, G. Dunning, T. Lloj r d, and E. Jones; judges, Messrs. J. Keegan and T. E. Smith; timekeepers, Alessrs. T. E. Smith and J. C. Sibbin; handicappers. Alessrs. J. Keegan, T. E. Smith, and J. C. Sibbin; auditors, Alessrs. R. Inglis and F. Claydon; trustees, Messrs. R. Inglis, F. Claydon, and R. H Auger; delegates to Auckland Yacht and Motor-boat Association. Alessrs. W. Claydon and J. C.
