ADDITIONS TO ETHNOLOGICAL COLLECTION.— Many valuable additions to the ethnological collection have been made at the Auckland Museum, and the rearrangement of the Polynesian exhibits has been completed. The pictures show, left: A beautiful hand-woven embroidered Paisley shawl from Scotland. Centre top: A hide shield captured during the Indian Mutiny. Lower: A Maori ceremonial fish-hook. Right: A collection of ketu (kumera weeders) and patu oruhe (wooden ‘pounders).
