SUCCESSFUL SEASON
WAIKATO CLUB’S PROGRESS PRESIDENT RE-ELECTED A profit of £725 was made by the Waikato Racing-. Club for the last financial year after allowing 7$ per cent, depreciation on buildings, 10 per cent, depreciation on plant, and £IOO for bad debts. In the annual report the president, Mr. G. W. Vercoe, states that the totalisator receipts amounted to £15,417, which was an increase of £lßl on the previous year’s figures, and the Government received £8,190 as taxation. The sum of £6.900 had been given in stakes, an increase of £l5O. Complimentary Tickets A pleasing feature of the year’s operations was the additional revenue received from gates and privileges, the amount being £3,270, an increase of £663. This result was no doubt brought about by the curtailment of complimentary tickets. The racing during the season had been of a high standard and fine weather had been experienced at both the spring and autumn fixtures. Messrs. G. W. Vercoe and F. R. Seddon aro the only nominations received for the positions of president and vicepresident respectively, while there are 11 nominations for the six vacancies on the committee. Those nominated are:—Messrs. W. Bourne, H. B. Caro, W. T. C. Christie, E. C. Bay, H. Marsland, O. M. Monckton, G. J. Bea*ch, .T. Fraser Smith, S. Tapp, A. L. Tompkins and S. V. Tyler. The election will, take place at the annual meeting on August 29.
