SKIDWAY FOR DINGHIES

CONSTRUCTION BY AKARANA YACHT CLUB A new skidway giving access to Mechanics’ Bay is now under construction by the Akarana Yacht Club, with the assistance of the Auckland Harbour Board. The skid, which will supply a longfelt need, will enable dinghies to be brought to the clubhouse lockers from the large number of yachts and launches which moor in the bay. At present the club only has access to Judge’s Bay outside the "Waterfront Road embankment.

The skid will be 62ft long and will run down from the reclaimed seciion in tront of the clubhouse to Mechanics' Bay inside the eastern tide deflector.
