WORKMAN-HIT ON HEAD -HAS NARROW ESCAPE STRUCK BY GREASE-CUP Mr. T. Cumming, of 45 Calliope Road. Devonport, has reason to be pleased that he wore his hat while working on the Harbour Board’s piledriver this morning. He was greasing the works of the pile-driver. While he was doing so a grease-cup, which had been left at the top of the driver, fell 40ft and struck him on the head. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. As his head had been protected by a felt hat at the time of the accident, he was fit. to be discharged after three stitches had been inserted in his scalp.
