NOT SHORT OF WIND

BRITISH TEAM IS TOLD HOW IN AUSTRALIA RECEPTION AT SYDNEY SYDNEY, Tuesday. When the members of the British Rubgy team arrived at Sydney by the Maunganui this morning the manager of the team, Mr. J. Baxter, told interviewers they had had a wonderful tour in New Zealand, and said it had been well organised. Remarkably large crowds had witnessed the matches. Many of the players were perturbed at the sinking of the Tahiti, as they had posted all sorts of things by her. Some former Waratahs greeted the British players on board the Maunganui, making the occasion a happy reunion. Later the visitors were accorded a reception at the Hotel Australia. Sir Henry Braddon facetiously advised them to take no notice of idle talk of depression, taxation and unbalanced Budgets, which was designed to lure visitors into a false sense of security. “We may be short of money,” he said, “but we are not short of wind.”
