JOLLY DANCE PARTY

! COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATED AT AVONDALE A delightful party was given on Saturday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Adams, at their home, "Leonore," Canal Road, Avondale, for their eldest daughter, Lois, in honour of her coming -of-age. The home was prettily decorated with streamers, balloons and Iceland poppies. Singing and musical items were given during the evening, and dancing was indulged in in the spacious •drawing room. Mrs. Adams received the guests in a frock of black ring velvet and diamente relieved with rose taffeta. Miss Lois Adams wore a period frock of rose and old gold taffeta. Miss Zena Adams had on an ankle-length gown of black ring velvet and silver taffeta. Miss Bettina Adams wore a frock of palest pink satin and black tulle. Among the guests present were: Mrs. M. Holland, navy ensemble; Mrs. T. Knox, navy and beige crepe de chine; Mrs. A. Bree, floral georgette frock; Airs. E. Bree, lemon satin; Mrs. Tuck, floral georgette; Mrs. R. Holland, black georgette; Miss M. Knox, shell pink georgette and gold lace; Miss W. Holland, cigarbrown crepe de chine; Miss ID. Woods, black sequined frock; Miss N. Bartley, pale green frilled net and silver lame; Miss M. Bartley, rose taffeta and tulle; Miss J. Gall, pale green floral taffeta: Miss McGill, apricot satin and ring velvet; Miss J. Lusk, palest pink ankle-length taffeta frock; Miss A. Power, navy blue satin and cream lace; Miss P. Gall, powder blue taffeta: Miss R. Cross, mauve taffeta and silver lame; Miss R. Gall, rose floral taffeta; Miss Wynyard, rose lace frock.
