MAJESTIC
“LOOSE ANKLES” Bright entertainment is provided by the current programme at the Majestic Theatre. In “Loose Ankles,” amazing conditions in a will are used as the foundation for an amusing series of complications in which a pretty young girl enlists the aid of an unscrupulous young man in order to break the foolish terms of the will and cause a scandal in the family. The Majestic’s programme alscr includes several most entertaining talkie featurettes. Talking pictures gave Montague Love only a temporary respite from heavy villain roles. This splendid actor, who plays almost any role with success, is back to the old love in “Double Cross Roads,” Fox Movietone all-talking drama, which comes to the Majestic Theatre as the next change. Pie portrays the character of the smooth and mild-mannered, yet hardboiled, attorney, the master mind of a band of crooks, who by trickery and doLible-crossing involves the hero and the girl he loves in a safe-cracking plot. In the end. however, the “menace” comes to grief, while the boy and girl are left to travel the road to happiness.
