JASPER FINDS IT HOT
Although today, by no stretch of imagination, could be called hot, the Rev. Jasper Calder found it so. Jasper did not get hot under the collar but under the coat, which he removed the better to conduct the community singing at the Town Hall today. Singers numbering approximately 2,000 responded to his waving baton with gusto and the hall was filled with melody. In addition to a. wide selection of numbers sung by the audience, Miss Ester McGill, a tiny tot of seven years, played a violin solo. The collection was in aid of charities.
