A message from Hamilton, Ontario, says a bowling victory at the Empire Games, was scored by Eng.and when Colquhoun defeated Thoms of South Africa by 22 to 12 in the singles event. England scored its second win when Hills and Wright outpointed the New Zealand pair, McWannell and Fielding, by 20 to 13. England was forced to scote six shots on the last three heads In the pairs, Reid and Moore (Canada) defeated Hall and Giovanette (South Africa) by 24 to 30. In the bowling singles Thoms (South Africa) defeated Reid (Vancouver), the Canadian champion, by 21 to 7. The Hamilton (Canada) rink beat the English four skipped by Frith by 27 to 19. Alfred Phillips won the high-diving championship for Canada. Walker (Canada) was second. Scott (England) was third in the bowling rinks. Scotland defeated New Zealand by 20 to 11. The Scots counted six at the 13th head to go into a commanding lead, which was maintained to the end.
