TROWERN’S APPEAL

DISALLOWED BY BOARD SUSPENSION TERM REDUCED The six months' suspension imposed on Reg. Trowern. the Auckland welterweight boxer, has been reduced to seven weeks. This means that Trowern’s suspension ceases today. This decision wa arived at by the Appeal Board, compriing Messrs. 11. R. Mackenzie, C. Sanders, and L. Meredith sitting in Auckland. The board disallowed the appeal, but ordered that the term of disqualification be reduced to expire today, holding that the seven weeks which have elapsed since the disqualification was made was commensurate with the offence. Trowern was disqualified for breaking a contract with the Wellington Boxing Association.
