ST MARY’S HOMES FUND
FAIR IN CONCERT CHAMBER In the Town Hall Concert Chamber yesterday a fair was held in aid of St. Mary’s Homes, Otahuhu. Buying began early in the morning, and the Rev'. E. J. Draper officially opened the fair in the afternoon. Air. and Airs. E. Fenton, Aliss Jean Clarkson, Miss Phillips, and ATiss Helen Gray played orchestral numbers, and ATiss Beverley Corin gave a recitation. The stalls were under the charge of the various parishes, and one, the country associates’ stalls, received contributions from Hamilton, Cambridge, Alatamata, Alorrinsville, Te Aroha, Kamo, Mangere and Onehunga. The stalls were attractively decorated, flax and daffodils and bamboo foliage intertwined with red and white paper roses taking a prominent place in the decoration schemes. Palms and ferns were arranged on the stage. The stalls were: Produce, Mrs. Cory Wright, Airs. McFarland and Airs. Houghton, St. Alary’s, Parnell; cakes, Airs. W. W. Averill, Airs. Ponsford. Mrs. Hawken, St. Aidan’s, Remuera, and All Saints’, Ponsonby; work stall. Airs. Draper, Airs. Hudson, Mrs. Hunt, Mrs. Hay, Mrs. Robin.son, St. Barnabas’s, Devonport, and Holy Sepulchre; novelties, Miss E. Brown; country and Onehunga - Alangere stall, Airs. Wigg, Airs. AlacAlurray, and Airs. Straw; flowers and jumble stall, AlrS. Henderson and Miss Henderson; sweets, the Query Club, Miss Huia Wiseman, and Miss Ina Wight; refreshments, Mrs. Litt, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. G. C. Cruickshank. Airs. Stanton, and Airs. Woodhead, St. A 1 ark’s, Remuera, St. George’s, Epsom, Christ Church, Ellerslie, and Mount Albert.
