Cheery Dance Evening With the Amateurs
Enjoyable Programme Arranged MANY MEMBERS AND THEIR FRIENDS ATTEND
Members of the Amateur Operatic Society and their friends spent a very cheery time in the society's hall last evening. Dancing occupied the major portion of the evening and some thoroughly enjoyable items were contributed by Miss Vida Nelson, Miss Warren, Mr. W*. H, Johnston, and Mr. E. Snell, songs; and humorous items were given by Mr. Dan Flood. An amusing sketch, entitled “The Bathroom Door,” was given by Mrs. A. J. Prentice, Miss Doreen D’Authreau, Miss Hope Asher, Mr. E. Keven, Mr. J. Gordon and Mr. A. J. Prentice. Music for dancing was supplied by Bentley’s orchestra. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. C. G. Lyttelton was gowned in black taffeta and ring velvet. Mrs. Ernest Snell was in cedar rose taffeta and ecru lace. Mrs. R. Singer’s gown of black chiffon was relieved with silver. Miss R. Sawers wore a flowered georgette frock. Mrs. Wallace Good had cn a black gown inset with panels of gold lace. Mrs. lan Simson was wearing phlox pink georgette and lace. Mrs. A. Prentice was gowned in black embossed chiffon. Mrs. 11. strong had chosen nile green taffeta. Mrs. Eric Waters was in a black embossed faille frock. Mrs. Pitcher was wearing powder blue crepe de soie. Airs. P. Green had on black lace over satin. Mrs. F. Hutchinson was wearing capucine georgette and taffeta. Mrs. L. Martin had on a rose patterned georgette frock. Aliss Verner Wishart’s frock was of silver lame and maize-coloured chiffon. Miss Eila BramDton was frocked in amber patterned crepe de chine. Aliss Doris Cleland had chosen a slenuer ankle-length frock of black faille. Miss Lynda Murphy was in chartreuse green crepe de soie. Miss Ailsa Lewis was gowned in black and orange patterned ninon, with lame jacket to tone., Miss Nance Redstone was in a slinintting frock of flesh pink moire. Miss Alnrjorie Blakey wore larkspur chiffon, with blue embossed lame coatee. Aliss Peggy Cutting wore turquoise blue taffeta. Miss Dorothy Steele had chosen turquoise blue faille, with deep shadow hem of tulle. Miss Doreen D’Authreau was In flame and blue gros grain taffeta. Miss Ariri Bragato wore an ankle-length gown of black moire Miss Doris Messer’s frock was of ivory frilled chiffon. Miss Bessie Messer had chosen an uneven length gown of ivory crepe de soie. Miss E. Rae’s smart frock was of black and pink chiffcm. Miss Gladys Fowler was wearing black ring velvet and chantiliy lace. 1 Aliss Eva Stares had on buttercup yellow lace, with silver lace coatee. Aliss Jean Carson was in peach pink satin and georgette. Aliss Vida Nelson wore black lace, with scarlet shoulder spray. Miss Olga Reid wore amethyst chiffon velvet. Miss Lovelace Alilne had chosen shrimp pink georgette. Aliss Irene Tanner was frocked in cherry embossed georgette. Aliss Kitty Williamson was wearing canton jado green georgette. Aliss Alona Craig's pretty frock was of cyclamen flowered ninon, with pleated berthe. Aliss Taylor had on a flame georgette frock, with crystal beaded trimming. Aliss Lu Taylor was in black and rose taffeta. Aliss Audrey Perry had on crocus yellow taffeta, with floral relief. Aliss Sybil Phillipps had chosen a pale pompadour moire gown. Miss Nora Phillipps wore a slim-fitting frock of lime green moire. Aliss Ethel Duncan wore deep orchid crepe de soie. Miss Olwyn Kent’s frock was of black faille, with ring velvet coatee. Aliss Aloira Crandall had on a phlox pink figured chiffon frock. Aliss Freda Crosher’s frock was of blue faille, relieved with pale rose beige. Miss AI. Plowman \v©re a jade green apd silver tissue frock. Aliss Olga Jackson’s gown was of pastel green and rose flowered ninon. Aliss Sylvia Norrie was wearing a coral pink taffeta frock. Miss Norrie was in lemon chiffon velvet. Aliss Ine Abdullah wore buttercup yellow georgette, with pointed draperies. Miss Howell’s gown was of black georgette. Aliss Alary Carfield was in mulberry ring velvet. Aliss Alay Sussex wore a black and amber patterned chiffon frock. Miss Florence Jones had on hyacinth blue beaded georgette. Aliss Alartinengo had chosen a pink embossed chiffon frock. Aliss Girlie Leatherbarrow had on water green and amethyst figured ninon. Aliss Hilda Alorse was w T earing duchess blue taffeta and net.
