PORT BUILDING

START WITH FOUNDATIONS OLD SHED TO GO A start was made today to clear the site for the new I’ort Building on the waterfront. The Harbour Board has undertaken to put in the foundations for the building. It is expected that the contractors will not make a start for at least two months. The shed on the waterfront, which now houses the waterside workers and the shippers and stevedores will be demolished, probably at the beginning of next week. Until the new building is completed they will have offices in No. S shed on the Central Wharf.
