PLAZA
“SUNNY SIDE UP” Put “Sunny Side Up” on your list of pictures to see. The William Fox screen musical comedy which is now at the Plaza Theatre is irrepressibly gay and utterly delightful. . . . The costars, Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell, are grand. . . . Gaynor is a revelation in her singing, dancing and comedy moments, and Farrell, who also sings well, is a decidedly attractive musical comedy lead. America’s Latin Quarter, the Greenwich Village section of New York, is the scene of most of the action of “The Golden Calf,” Fox Movietone comedy with music, coming to the Plaza shortly. A delightful, romance develops in this Bohemian atmosphere. There are generous glimpses of cabaret and stage life, also. Sue Carol, Jack Mulhall, El Brendel, Marjorie "White, Richard Keene and Paul Page are co-featured in the all-star cast. Millard Webb directed.
“Heads Up,” an all-colour musical farce with music, starring Charles (BuddyX Rogers, has gone into production at the New York studios. Victor Shcertzinger, who directed Rogers in “Saftey in Numbers,” is handling the new film.
