“PARAMOUNT ON PARADE”
Th directorial efforts of eleven of Hollywood’s foremost film makers, under the supervision of Paramount’s production manager, combined to bring “Paramount on Parade” to the screen of tho Strand Theatre. “Paramount on Parade” represetns not only the greatest production effort in the history of Paramount, but the most genuine piece of screen entertainment in the history of the industry.
For the first time in the history of the American stage or screen, a full company of Mexican chorus girls was employed in “The Great Divide,” tho First National picture coming to the Strand Theatre on Friday. Twenty-four pairs of golden legs and arms whirl through numbers on the set representing a Mexican town in the midst of a fiesta. There are also two groups of American chorines and a mixed chorus of 100 voices in these colourful scenes of the drama. Dorothy Maokaill portrays the heroine with lan Keith appearing opposite her. A second big attraction will be shown on the same programme in “Dance Hall,” starring Olive Borden.
