“SALUTE” AND “HONEY” George O’Brien not only stars as a football player in “Salute.” the Fox picture with its backgrounds of West Point and Annapolis, now at the Tivoli Theatre, but also shines as a swimmer. The swimming meet scenes were shot in the United States Naval Academy plunge at Annapolis. Helen Chandler. Joyce Compton. William Janney, Stepin Fetchit and others are also featured in “Salute/* The story is of the rivalry of two brothers, one a West Point cadet and the other an Annapolis midshipman; the West Pointer an athletic hero with a dominating personality, the midshipman the dreamer type with an inferiority complex. Throughout, an always charming and exciting romance “Honey,” the second big talkie attraction, is a charming school boy romance starring Nancy Carroll.
