CREDIT-MEN CONFER

MEETING AT HASTINGS “ENORMOUS WASTE IN N.Z.” Press Association NAPIER, TuesdayDelegates from the Creditors’Associations throughout New Zealand met at Hastings today in the first conference of tl\o hind to be held in New Zealand. The Mayor, Mr. U. F. Roach, in welcoming the delegates, expressed the hope that their deliberations would achieve something in the matter of controlling credit. The enormous waste of credit in New Zealand was to be deplored and if the conference resulted in controlling losses by credit, much benefit to the country would accrue. The chairman of the conference. Mr. P. Reach, replying, said that credit business had been much abused and suggested that children in schools should be taught to honour their trust, which was only another word for credit. A total of 1.200 credit-givers are represented at the conference, which is continuing its deliberations in committee.
