OMNIBUS BANDITS
CONDUCTOR GIVES BAG AT GUN-POINT SENSATION IN SYDNEY Reed. 10.20 a.m. SYDNEY. Today. There was a daring hold-up in the suburb of Newtown. Two masked bandits jumped on a crowded bus about midnight and at the revolverpoint bailed up the driver and conductor, at the same time ordering the passengers to keep their seats. The driver, James Rowe, was commanded not to slop the vehicle, and (he conductor, Edward Burns, was forced to relinquish his bag containing about £ls. In the meantime passengers were in a panic and two women fainted. While the bus was still in motion the robbers leaped clear and made a clean getaway.
