Time. 1.55. THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP First Division. 6 furlongs. BAVACRE (N.Z.), 8.4. T. Webster .. 1 SWEET VALAIS, 8.4 TIPPO, 3 Fourteen started. Won by a long neck, with half a length between second and third. Time, 1.16. FLYING WELTER HANDICAP 6 furlongs. VALLAR (ex-N.Z.), 8.12, M. McCarten 1 LADY O'CLARE, 7.5 ; KALA MOTI. * Fifteen started. The stewards inquired into aliegeu interference with I’m Alone, the Ne*t Zealand horse, during the running or the Park Stakes, and came to the conclusion that it was due to other horses crowding in at the three-furlongs turn. The weather was damp and the track heavy for the Victoria Amateur Turf Club’s Australian steeplechase meeting at Caulfield yesterday. Results: AUSTRALIAN STEEPLECHASE Of £2,100; about 35 miles. GOOD WHISKY (F. P. Barns), blk g.. a cod, bv Gloria Seal—Miss Chainman, 9.3, Hobson 1 ORANGE PARK (F. Noel), oh g. aged, by William of Orange—Florrie Park, 9.7, Butler 2 BANG BANG (M. Irwin), b g. aged by Two Shot—Gwenda, 9.5, Winks .. 3 Ten started. Bang Bang established a handy lead, with Hungarian, Adit, Kentle, Orange Park, Johnny Cake and Good Whisky as his nearest attendants. Kentle pulled up seven furlongs from home. Good Whisky passed Bang Bang at the five furlongs post and coming into the straight strongly won comfortably by four lengths from Orange Park, who was five lengths ahead of Bang Bang, while George William was fourth.
