CRICKET STARS REST FOR DECIDING MATCH
HOBBS HAS NEURITIS BRADMAN STRAINS TOE United P.A. —By Telegraph Copyright Reed. 10.50 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The cricket match between Warwickshire and Australia has been abandoned.
Owing to neuritis in his shoulder Hobbs, the cricketer, had to retire from the field this afternoon to under-
go special treatment. He was ordered a week’s rest, and it is anticipated that he will be fit to play in the final test match on August 16. Australia’s star batsman, Bradman, is resting in London, having strained a toe in the match earlier in the week, and the Australian googly bowler, Grimmett, is also having a full week’s rest before the final test, which -will decide the rubber.
